Wish I could see it in person and up close to study his mark-making. Thanks so much for enlightening me about this talented printmaker.belindadelpesco.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16062375277740529374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340634554199883217.post-77340984762647283702010-12-15T14:51:16.411+00:002010-12-15T14:51:16.411+00:00If there's not already a book about the Rheads...If there's not already a book about the Rheads, someone ought to write one. I think George Steiner(?) - and maybe others - have written about books they thought someone should write.Jane Librizzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03943563452168571716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340634554199883217.post-88780985147877828292010-12-14T22:49:19.756+00:002010-12-14T22:49:19.756+00:00Jane - Sorry to have posted your first comment and...Jane - Sorry to have posted your first comment and then removed it, rather than read the second revised one first! I think Rhead is a rather uncommon surname, and I strongly suspect that your two ceramic Rheads may be descendants of Louis John Rhead - No doubt someone out there will let us know. The whole history of the Rheads as it has unfolded to me reminds me of A. S. Byatt's novel The Children's Book (which was based on the life of E. Nesbit, but has a lot in it about ceramics, and the early Fabians, and Suffragettes, and so on).Neilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18020242863144175965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340634554199883217.post-34288240521551539952010-12-14T18:25:59.324+00:002010-12-14T18:25:59.324+00:00Revised comment: I just discovered some ceramics m...Revised comment: I just discovered some ceramics made by Frederick Hurten Rhead and Agnes Rhead for University City Pottery of Saint Louis, Missouri, and wondered if they were part of the same family. The Rheads seem to have been prolific at producing talented artists.Jane Librizzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03943563452168571716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340634554199883217.post-62411493592591696262010-12-14T18:22:03.240+00:002010-12-14T18:22:03.240+00:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Jane Librizzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03943563452168571716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340634554199883217.post-59314827290918897582010-12-14T08:57:59.725+00:002010-12-14T08:57:59.725+00:00Thanks, TG..

I would suspect that your signature is probably genuine, assuming it looks like a signature, and not just someone identifying the artist.Neilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18020242863144175965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340634554199883217.post-25504635759190127582010-12-14T07:25:41.008+00:002010-12-14T07:25:41.008+00:00Beau et intéressant
